MT. SNĚŽKA - HIKING THE HIGHEST PEAK OF CZECHIA

Do you want to experience something truly unique? Do you want to see the Czech Republic right from the top? 

We can make it happen! We will take you to the highest mountain range in the Czech Republic – Krkonoše, situated on the northeast of the country. This area is protected as a national park since 1963 and it offers beautifully wild, raw and well maintained nature. Dense forests, snowy peaks, colorful meadows and typical mountainous architecture of local huts and houses will definitely charm you fully. 

We will be traveling from Prague and our first stop will be in small town Pec pod Sněžkou. From there we can either continue on foot uphill or the second option is to continue to the top with a cable car. All depends on your wish, possibilities and preferences. 

In case you prefer to hike, you can expect a great walk. In the beginning we will climb up about 3 km. We will go around dense forests, colorful meadows with flowers and lazy cows. Halfway to the top, we will have a rest at the hut Růžohorky, where we will also eat our lunch. After the break you can expect more demanding ascent – about 3,5 km just to the top. But the panoramic views all around you will be the greatest reward! Green countryside, the peaks of the hills and the views to far distance. Plus a great sport activity is promised. The name itself – Sněžka – come from the meaning covered by snow (which is usually about half a year true). On the top there is an old rotunda chapel of st. Vavřinec, meteorological station, stone trigonometric obelisk and the Czech post office with observation platform. We will take our time, we will rest and enjoy to its fullest the present moment!

On the way back we can go with the cable car or the same way. In case you are really enthusiastic and you don’t mind any extra kilometers, we can also descend through the valley Obří důl which is considered as one of the most beautiful part of the national park.
